Olympic 2012 hopefuls

Why we're getting behind Stuart Hayes and London 2012.

We are delighted to announce that we are now supporting local Triathlete, Stuart Hayes as he attempts to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Following the appointment of BMW Group as the Official Automotive Partner of the 2012 Games, BMW is now actively supporting British athletes, such as Ellie Simmonds and Louis Smith, via the BMW London 2012 Performance Team. Meanwhile, in line with the Performance Team initiative, BMW dealers like us will be working with local athletes, supporting their endeavours to qualify for Team GB or ParalympicsGB.

Triathlete, Stuart Hayes trains all over the world with Team Dillon including Australia's Gold Coast for 6 months of the year. He also uses facilities in Twickenham and Loughborough. Born in Isleworth, Stuart has been competing since the age of 15 when he won his first World Title as a Junior. Now 31, his proudest moment is winning the Kitzbuhel World Championship Series in Austria in 2010.

‘I'm really grateful to Vines Group and BMW for their support,’ said Stuart ‘It's tough trying to qualify for an Olympic place and it's a big help knowing that they are behind me, helping to raise funds and awareness. It's also fantastic having a brand new BMW X3 from now until the end of the 2012 Games. There's a lot of travelling to heats, competitions and promotional events so it's great being able to arrive there in style.’

Sean Kelly, Managing Director at Vines Group said: ‘This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get really involved with the 2012 Games. Our staff and customers are keen to support London 2012 so we're really happy to be backing Stuart - especially since our help will give him a much needed boost to achieve his dreams and that of the whole country for a successful, sustainable and winning London 2012.’

Why not continue to follow Stuart's updates here at Vines Group.
